Time to leave Cairngorms and drive towards Isle of Skye! On the way we stopped in Inverness to stretch our legs and have a look around.

Inverness looked a lot like any smallish UK town, I thought.

My trusty companion always waiting for me in some corner or other while I take photos. :)

"Coos" means cows, if any Swedes were wondering. :)

After Inverness we spent a few hours in the car. We have so much fun in the car, we've always been good at travelling together that way.

Not least because Liam willingly finds places to park almost anywhere, and is happy to turn around if he can't stop in time, so I can take photos. I'm so grateful for that. This journey was truly ridiculous, and I wanted to try and capture it all. These are just some of the views we saw from the road:

And then once we got to Skye we needed to take a longer break here ...

... so that Liam could get a nap in, since he was getting sleepy. :)

That house up on the hill is where we rented a room. Complete with highland coos and everything! I was a little bit afraid to open that gate every time we came and went at first, but they were friendly, by which I mean, didn't care about us in the slightest. This one was busy scratching itself against the fence anyways. :)

This was the view from our room.

And these were the views from the garden.

We went into Portree (we stayed just a tiny bit outside of town) to get some dinner. This turned out to be such a cute little town.

We found some stir fry for dinner and then went for an evening walk by the pier.

And then made it back to our room before it started raining. This was such a great roadtrip day; a bunch of hours in the car with great company, listering to music, and some excellent views. More from Skye in the next post!
