I've been to London with my mum! We turned 40 and 80, respectively, back in October and wanted to celebrate together by watching a couple of musicals. London is the place to do that, obviously!
On our first day there we mostly just checked in to our hotel and then went into town to see our first show.
But we had some time to kill on the way, so we looked at some Lego too. :)
The mandatory theatre selfies, both inside and outside.
Book of Mormon was such a DELIGHT. Neither of us had seen it before and we both loved it. So funny, such great songs, such fabulous dancing. Glad to have finally seen it!
The day after we went to the V&A.
Saw some art!
If only I wasn't so in love with colour and colour photography, I'd totally want my photo albums to look like this. Black and white on dark green paper, how gorgeous?
More art stuff!
In the afternoon we strolled through the city and went to some shops
and walked through Hyde Park
and had scones with clotted cream and jam at M&S, because it's too tasty not to. :)
Then Wicked! I've seen it a bunch of times before, but mum hadn't, and I'm always very happy to see it again.
We had ice cream in the break just for the joy of getting to buy and eat ice cream in the theatre. That's not allowed where I'm from. :)
Such a great show.
And I was so happy to get to share it with my mum.
The day after we only had a short bit of time, so I took mum to Liberty, who are apparently famous for their fabrics.
Fabrics they had!
"But can't you FEEL that this is good quality, here, just FEEL IT!". In the end I had to actively force my mum to buy some of the most beautiful fabric, because she's an underbuyer like myself, and she has "way too much fabric at home already". True, but ... if it makes her happy to have a lovely summer blouse that she's made herself from Liberty fabric, I think she should. So I made her see sense. :)
And then we went to the airport and went back home later that day. So it was a bit of a whirlwind weekend, but I'm so happy we took this trip. Happy birthday to us! <3
