What is this life where I get to spend my time connected through dance to the music and my body and my self and my partner and the ground and my community and humanity and history, AND then I get paid to document the beauty and colour and emotion of it, truly though, how did I get here?
Minor Swing, our yearly balboa weekender here in Gothenburg, was SUCH A BLAST. I was working (and got paid the hourly rate that I asked for - I feel I have to add that these days, every time organisers are treating my work as actual valuable work) which brought me so much joy AND I had time to join one class per day AND social dance a bit in the evenings. This dance/ work balance is something I've been working towards for many years while shooting events, and I feel I am finally getting there (it's still not perfect though). I can honestly say that I'm pleased with the photos, too. Here are my favourites from Friday and Saturday:
