uk roadtrip part 11: a sunday in didsbury

Good morning Manchester! Rachel was, as always, a wonderful host, and made us the most ridiculous Sunday brunch. She had the day off work, so we discussed a few options of what we would do; then landed on Rachel's brilliant suggestion of just walking around the local area and stopping very often for fika or drinks. :)

Rachel (and Fergus of course, who was sadly out working on Boaty McBoatface RRS Sir David Attenborough while we were there) lives in Didsbury, which is cute area, so I was very happy to just stroll all day.

(I mean - it IS funny though? Admit it!)

After we'd had a look around some of the local charity shops we decided it was time for fika.

I was very pleased with my choice of scone and hot chocolate.

Then we went to the Parsonage Gardens ...

... and to Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens. It was such a great day for a walk: overcast, beautiful light, not too hot or too cold, and so much catching up to do and things to talk about.

Then we decided we wanted a drink, so we went to the Didsbury (which, I don't know ... Not the most imaginative name for a pub in Didsbury?).

Dark beer for Liam, gin & orange for me, red wine for Rachel.

It was such a cosy place!

Then we got hungry. Pizza time!

Rudy's is such a great pizza place. Strong recommend.

The food was verrrry good.

Then we moseyed back to Rachel's, very full of pizza. :) Liam got some resting in, while Rachel and I took a tour around the local park to let the food go down.

And we met Rachel's very cuddly neighbour, I think his name was Archie. :)

The rest of the evening was spent in the most perfect way imaginable - with hot chocolate (double hot choc day!) ...

... and several episodes of the Great Pottery Throwndown. :) Such a brilliant Sunday!
